The SDI Cookbook (GSDI, 2012)

The SDI Cookbook contains 12 chapters and envisaged to clarify the SDI definition and to share the current experiences in building SDI implementations. This cookbook is intended to be SDI Implementation Guide and includes recommendations on developing SDI. It provides geographic information providers and users with the necessary background information to evaluate and implement existing components of SDI.

INSPIRE:

The Spatial Data Infrastructure for Europe, which is called, formally, Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe, or INSPIRE.

The purpose of INSPIRE is to support environmental policy and overcome major barriers still affecting the availability and accessibility of relevant data. The INSPIRE Directive is a legal act (Directive 2007/2/EC) of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament setting up an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe based on infrastructures for spatial information established and operated by the 27 Member States of the European Union (EU).
